IF YOU CANCEL YOUR OWN ATENDANCE AT AN EVENT
Unless otherwise specified, all cancellations must be made in writing or by phone and will be accepted up to 3 business days before the event. All late cancellations will be charged a $25 late cancel fee (or the total credit card transactions fees, whichever is higher). No shows will be billed for the full cost, unless the event registration is transferred to another individual within your company before the date of the event.
Some events or courses may have specific cancellation policies that differ from the policy above.
IF NYHA HAS TO CANCEL AN EVENT
In certain rare circumstances, it may be necessary for NYHA to cancel a scheduled program. If and when this happens, all prepaid registrations will be refunded or credited to the member account. The decision to cancel or postpone an event shall be at the sole discretion of NYHA and does not entitle registrants to rights or damages resulting from the cancellation.
IF NYHA HAS TO POSTPONE AN EVENT
Our goal is to always hold events on the date it has been scheduled. However, sometimes due to extraordinary circumstances beyond our control, we cannot. In the event of such circumstances, the date of the event may be postponed, and all registrations will be transferred to the new event date. If the attendee shows they cannot attend the new date, a refund or credit for a future event may be issued. Substitutions are ALWAYS allowed.
In the event of a trade show postponement, if the exhibitor can show us they have a conflict with another event and cannot make the new date then a refund or credit may be issued. Otherwise, we will allow the exhibitor to cancel and a refund may be issued if the booth is able to be resold.
COVID-19 / ILLNESS CANCELLATION POLICY
The current cancellation policies remain in full effect for all other cancellation reasons or circumstances.
If you are scheduled to attend an in-person class and fall ill or suspect you may have been exposed to COVID19, stay home. Contact us in advance, if at all possible, to select from one of the following options:
- You may transfer your registrationto a co-worker or colleague up to the day of the class or event (please make sure the transferee has all pertinent information for participating that you have received).
- If you are unable to transfer your registration you will have the option of re-scheduling for another date, or receiving a refund minus any transaction fees for credit card processing.
We will miss you, but if you are sick, please stay home.
PHOTO RELEASE CONSENT
By attending a New York Housing Association meeting, event and/or program, whether in-person at public or private facilities or online during a virtual event, the attendee grants NYHA permission to use their likeness in a photograph, video or other digital media in any and all of the Association's publications, including web-based publications, without payment or other consideration. Furthermore, the attendee acknowledges and agrees that all photos will become the property of NYHA and thereby authorizes NYHA to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish or distribute these photos for any lawful purpose. Additionally, the attendee waives any right to royalties or other compensation related to the use of the photos. Since anyone can download an image from the internet or make copies of printed materials, the attendee agrees that NYHA is not responsible for the unauthorized use of the images.
