Remote 21B INSTALLER Certification Course - Apr 2, 2021

To qualify for Installer Certification in New York State, one must complete the full training course successfully (online and onsite) and pass the final written exam. For more information on qualifications for certification as an installer in New York State, contact the Manufactured Housing Unit at the NYS Department of State Division of Code Enforcement and Administration at 518-474-4073 or follow this link to their website. 

The New York Manufactured Housing Installation Certification Course is now available online. To register, click here. To use this site, you must first register as a student and login to purchase course. Click on “signup” in the upper right corner to register. Be sure to choose the New York Course. PLEASE NOTE: The initial password given to register for the NY Installer Course is currently NOT working. To complete your registration, please email mhei@mfghomes.org – be sure to let them know you are registering for the NY Installer Module.

The $275 registration fee includes the course guidebook, 21B Introductory Course registration fee and final exam. Course registrants have up to three months to complete the Online Training Course. Once successfully completed, they will need to register for the 21B Course (fee included) and take the final written exam after the 21B Course.

Requirements to become certified in New York State as a manufacturer, retailer, installer or mechanic include financial responsibility, experience, education, initial training and in some cases, a written examination. Requirements vary with each type of certification. Prior to beginning any training, all applicants should read the Manufactured Housing Laws & Regulations Part 1210. Here is the link.

IMPORTANT! After you have completed the online portion of this course with MHEI, there are TWO steps you have to take to register for the final portion of Installer Training:

1) Register with NYHA by purchasing a ticket.

2) Register with Webex for access to the course: your confirmation email will contain all of the online registration info. When the Webex registration is complete, you will receive an email notification verifying the registration and details on how to enter the training.
